72 Hours in Brooklyn

SUMMER EDITION

Wythe Hotel is the original boutique hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, focused on culture, food, community, and warm, genuine service.
We are staunchly local, and mindful of our role in Brooklyn’s proud history of welcoming people from all over the world.

This summer, we invite you to experience Brooklyn through the eyes of our wonderful team. They live and work and play in Brooklyn, and we are excited to share some of their favorites.

Friday

Take in the unobstructed skyline views from the 6th floor at Wythe Hotel's Bar Blondeau (reservations recommended). Chef Christian suggests pairing a Martini Blonde with a dozen oysters or a Frozen Bellini with a lobster hot dog.

Then walk up a few blocks to McCarren ParkHouse for Jazz at McCarren (Friday nights, 8-11pm) or check out any number of great music venues in the neighborhood (Brooklyn Bowl, National Sawdust, and Music Hall of Williamsburg, to name a few).

Saturday

Be sure to bring your appetite as you venture over to Smorgasburg at Marsha P. Johnson State Park. This open-air food market features dozens of vendors, including local favorites like Dough Doughnuts and Federoff's Roast Pork.

Our Marketing Director, Claire, recommends perusing Artist & Fleas and McNally Jackson Books on your way down to Other Half Brewing at Domino Park

Cool off inside The Second City's newest comedy and improv venue, located just a few blocks from Wythe Hotel. Catch their "Best of Second City" show at 3pm or the mainstage cast at 7pm or 10pm.

Sunday

There are countless ways to enjoy a perfect summer Sunday day in Brooklyn.  Here are a few of our favorites:

Take the East River Ferry to DUMBO ($2.75) and soak up the skyline views as well as three major bridges (Williamsburg, Manhattan and Brooklyn). Check out the Brooklyn Flea (Saturday and Sunday, 10am-5pm) and take a spin on Jane's Carousel. Then bike back to Williamsburg along Flushing Avenue and Kent Avenue. Chef Aidan recommends stoping for a Grandma Pie at Il Porto in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. And for the coffee lovers, don't miss Brooklyn Roasting Company.

Take the A train to Rockaway Beach and get off between 105th and 116th Station. Pro move: pack a cold Talea beer from your hotel room mini bar and order a sandwich to go from Court Street Grocers before hopping on the train (or ferry). After a few hours of sun and sand, our controller, Pam, suggests grabbing piña coladas at Connolly's. If you're looking for a sit down restaurant, check out the Rooftop at Rockaway Hotel + Spa or Tacoway Beach

Bike down to Pioneer Works in Red Hook, an artist and science-led non-profit cultural arts center with indoor and outdoor galleries. After a healthy dose of culture, Chef Borja recommends grabbing a sandwich at Defonte's or a table at Hometown Bar-B-Que or Red Hook Tavern (the burger cannot be missed). Wash it all down with a beer and a view at Strong Rope Brewery. Then top it off with a chocolate making class at Wythe Hotel favorite, Raaka Chocolate.

Monday

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in bed (we suggest the French omelette or full English breakfast). Our Beverage Director, Jarett, suggests you grab a bottle of No. 80 Whiskey (our exclusive batch with neighbor NY Distilling Co.) from the mini bar as a gift for the spirits lover in your life ($65). And don't forget your Wythe Hotel tote as a memento ($25).

Have time to kill time before you head to the airport? Store your luggage with our Front Desk Team and head down to Prospect Park. Our Kitchen Manager, Raina, recommends purchasing a Museum + Gardens pass from Brooklyn Museum so you can enjoy an exhibit and a stroll through the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens.
